About Me
When I started using Haskell, I already had a few years of experience with other functional languages, so while I prefer Haskell, I don't consider myself limited to it. I particularly enjoy bridging gaps between seemingly unrelated research groups. My interests evolve around (declarative) programming languages, programming techniques, and tools. While I am a researcher at heart, I tend to be more interested in development than paper writing. I've implemented a couple of small functional languages, in addition to dabbling in domain-specific embedded languages and minor contributions to implementations of real functional languages. Tools I've authored or collaborated on include the haskellmode plugins for Vim, GHood (visualizaton of Haskell object observations), HaRe (the Haskell Refactorer), HCPN (Haskell-Coloured Petri Nets). In 2001, I initiated the 6-monthly Haskell Communities and Activities Reports. See my haskell.org page for more info.
