The Role

 

Building a report and data processing engine used by D&B cloud-based applications.

There will be a focus on powerful modelling of calculations and high-performance, parallel execution over large data sets involving data from relational databases and other sources.

 

Development will be done primarily in a functional programming language (Haskell) and will involve significant interaction with relational databases.

The role may also involve investigating alternative database technologies based on performance and fit.

 

About You

You will be comfortable with functional programming, relational databases, efficient data structures and algorithms, attention to detail, and a good approach to unit testing.

 

Required Experience

·       Degree or similar qualification in Computer Science or a related field.

·       Experience creating commercial software applications, especially Business Intelligence

·       Functional programming experience (ideally Haskell)

·       Familiarity with Haskell packages: 

·       HDBC, parsec, STM, template-haskell, aeson

·       SQL & database experience (PostreSQL, MySQL, etc

·       Experience uploading and reading large data sets

·       Java/JBoss

·       JSON/XML

·       Git

·       Linux or OS X

·       Unit testing and integration testing
